BEGINNER SONGWRITING & CREATIVITY COACHING

Have you caught the songwriting bug and want to gain more skills in expressing yourself, tapping into your own authentic voice, and connecting to others through song? Or perhaps you’re a 9-to-5’er who desperately wants to put more energy into your musical endeavors, but you aren’t sure where and how to start? Let me help you!

Just a few of my musical-related accomplishments:

  • Released five full-length albums (with a sixth on the way) and three EPs

  • Founded and ran indie record label (eskimo kiss records) for 10 years

  • Played drums for a number of bands, from noisy, punky indie-rock to hillbilly blues to indie-pop and more

  • Opened for Indigo Girls for a handful of dates in 2015

  • Earned accolades from well-known publications (Noisey, No Depression)

  • Showcased at established music festivals (30a, NXNE, LEAF)

And I did most of these things while holding down a successful and demanding day job, and now juggling grad school, caregiving, and lots more. The question I get most often is “how do you do all this?!?” Well, it takes sacrifice, yes, but it can be done. And, it can even be fun.

You might benefit from my help if you:

  • Are an introvert wanting to “put yourself out there,” but you’re overwhelmed by the idea of doing so (INFJ here, I get you!)

  • Have dreams of writing your own songs and playing them for others but are having problems getting started, booking that first show, establishing an online presence, recording a demo, etc. (I was there, not that long ago!)

  • Have a number of “real life” responsibilities that have prevented you from dedicating much time or energy to your creative calling (See above … “work/life balance?” What’s that???)

  • Or just like to shoot the shit with a fellow creative, bounce ideas, and gain more clarity and focus.

Just Look at What These Folks Had to Say About Working With Me!

“Whether our time is spent focusing on my songwriting or spent just having a conversation about music and life, I glean so much from Kim's musical expertise and wisdom. Over the past several years, I lost touch with the musical side of myself and who better to listen, tweak a few words, or generate new ideas with than Kim. My musical expression has come back to life in a big way. Her level of mastery is truly inspiring. Her warmth, wit, and authenticity are truly appreciated. I look forward to our monthly chats and so will you!” -Diane Coll, Ph. D., songwriter
